Precious McClendon is the founder of Centerpeace.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Gender & Women’s Studies from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and a master’s degree in Public Service Management from DePaul University. She was raised in the North Lawndale area and understands the importance of having a career coach to help in personal development, skill building, and defining one’s personal career strategy that will lead to a more satisfactory career.  It is at DePaul where her passion to help others in urban neighborhoods was re-established and redirected. It was there that she determined that offering career coaching services was a way to address several issues that she was passionate about.

Precious is also a member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches (PARW/CC) and is on her way to becoming a Certified Professional Career Coach (CPCC). She understands what it's like to be in an unemployment line, laid off, turned down for jobs, the pitfalls of not finding a successful career that matches her passion and goals, and working in roles that do not benefit her as a whole person. She brings strong interpersonal skills that foster relationship building and communicating with people of diverse backgrounds.

Additionally, Precious possesses more than 10 years in various positions at leading companies in Chicago across multiple sectors. Those experiences sharpened her understanding of how different levels of personal development are needed to establish and maintain a career.
